Hazard warning! Arsenal and United told to keep their hands off Lille star Eden
Lille have warned Arsenal, Manchester United, and several more of Europe's big guns that they can forget signing Eden Hazard this summer.
The young Belgium winger is attracting admiring glances from many of Europe's most prestigious clubs after inspiring Lille to their first French league title in 46 years.
Bacelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move, as well as the Premier League giants. But Lille general manager Frederic Paquet has told the Gunners, and Hazard's other suitors, to keep their hands off.
Belgian waffle: Lille say they are not interested in selling Eden Hazard... but can the French title winners resist the huge spending power of Europe's top clubs?
Paquet said: 'Eden is not for sale. He will not be leaving this summer, whether to Paris or anywhere else. The president has been very clear about this. He will be with us next season.'
Hazard has hinted though that he is seeking a move away from teh club, despite the prospect of Champions League football next season. Last month, the 20-year-old said: 'I want to play at a big club. I have no preference.'
Bienvenue! Arsenal soon hope to welcome Lille forward Gervinho to the club
The skilful forward hit the headlines for the wrong reasons earlier this month when he stormed off the pitch after being substituted during Belgium's Euro 2012 qualifying draw with Turkey.
He promptly tucked into a burger before later conceding his behaviour was out of order.
Arsenal remain confident that they will tie up a £12million deal this week for Gervinho, Hazard's team-mate at the Ligue 1 side.
