Next stop Paris, Becks? PSG jet in to LA in bid to secure deal with Galaxy star

Paris St Germain will step up their bid to bring David Beckham back to Europe as club officials attempt to meet the England star in Los Angeles.
The Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) group, who bankrolled the club from the French capital to the tune of more than £50million this summer, hope to convince Beckham to join their ambitious project.

The key man in the deal is Beckham's old friend Leonardo, with whom he worked closely at AC Milan during two loan spells in Italy, and who is now the director of football at PSG. The Brazilian has publicly stated his desire to rekindle their relationship.
Last month, he said: 'I coached him at AC Milan and we created a good relationship. He is more than a football player, but when you see him every day he trains and plays like a kid.
'He is someone that I really appreciate and admire so much - his values and everything he has done in football.

'The door is open. He is more than a football player - he’s a brand, a pop star. I would always consider him. He respects the rules, listens to you and wants the best for the team.
'That’s why for me he is a big example. I worked with him and that’s why I talk about his name.'
Beckham will be offered an 18-month contract at the club, who are currently top of Ligue 1, with a salary of at least £4.3m to put him on a par with record summer signing Javier Pastore.
According to French newspaper Le Parisien, David's wife Victoria has already given the all clear to the move after four years in Los Angeles, and the club want a definitive answer from the player within 10 days.

Beckham's contract with LA Galaxy ends at the conclusion of the MLS season, on November 20, with his team hotly tipped to secure the coveted title despite a 2-0 defeat to Thierry Henry's New York Red Bulls on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old is eyeing one-final push at glory in a bid to earn a place at the London 2012 Olympics as captain of the proposed Team GB football team.
PSG would represent the perfect opportunity for Beckham; a competitive league, European football, and the chance to shine in a leadership role.
The newspaper reports he would be used as a guiding hand for youngsters in the same way former Chelsea man Claude Makelele was before his retirement.

Premier League side Tottenham, with whom Beckham trained earlier this year, and Championship big-spenders Leicester are also keen.
Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson hopes to bring David Beckham to Leicester in a player-coach role.
'I have already had that discussion with him. I spoke to him about Leicester,' Eriksson told The Times.
'Beckham, he will never say no to me - he says, "Sven, we'll see, we'll see".
'The big thing is what he wants to do when his contract finishes in LA. Will he want to go on playing?
'We will give him a whistle and he can go out (on the training pitch) straight away.
