England boss Capello to rule on Rooney at the end of the season
Fabio Capello will wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to include Wayne Rooney in his plans for the European Championship finals.
The FA will not make a decision on whether to appeal against Rooney's three-match ban until they receive an explanation from UEFA about the severity of the punishment, which is expected next week.
All smiles: Rooney shrugged off news of the ban, enjoying training with his United team-mates
But Capello is in no hurry to ease Rooney's pain, having reached the reasonable conclusion that any decision on his squad does not need to be made until it is time to select all 23 players for Poland and Ukraine.
Capello would like the FA to appeal against Rooney's ban for his red card in Montenegro but officials at Wembley are cautious because of a UEFA process called 'cross appealing' - something that could end with an increased ban.
