Danny's the boy, says Sunderland boss Bruce

Danny Welbeck's call-up to the England squad - and the chance to play at Wembley twice in four days - came as no surprise to Sunderland boss Steve Bruce.
Manchester United star Welbeck shone on their pre-season tour to the States and Bruce believes he could become as big a star as Wayne Rooney.

Bruce, who guided Welbeck last season while he was on loan, said: 'I tried to keep Danny but, deep down, I knew there was no chance of getting him. Not only does he score goals but his all-round play is terrific, too.

'He was a bit raw when he came to us but he came on in leaps and bounds.'
Welbeck scored six goals in 26 league starts and gained a first England call-up while on Wearside.
And Bruce added: 'There's no doubt he has what it takes to go to the very top.'
